Derived from Bizet's 1875 opera Carmen, the Suites were meticulously compiled posthumously by his close friend Ernest Guiraud. Guiraud made subtle alterations to Bizet's original orchestration.
The Suites capture the drama and passion of the opera, and have since become beloved staples in the classical music repertoire.
