Debussy Syrinx

The story of Debussy’s Syrinx is directly connected to the story of Syrinx, the nymph of ancient Greek myth. In 1913, Debussy was asked by playwright Gabriel Mourey to write some background music for Psyché, intended for a scene in which Pan dies, filled with regret. Syrinx has since become an absolute pillar of the flute repertoire.
