Principal Conductor Gemma New starts our 2025 season with vivid paintings in sound. Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition depicts paintings by Viktor Hartmann, with each movement musically describing each painting in piquant detail. Similarly, Gershwin’s An American in Paris is the aural embodiment of American swagger and Parisian panache.

We also welcome Emily Beynon to our shores. Currently Principal Flute of the Concertgebouw Orchestra and considered one of the top five flautists in the world by ClassicFM, Beynon premieres a brand-new work by French composer Guillaume Connesson, and is sure to dazzle with her “virtuosity and rich feeling” (Gramophone).
