Eleanor Carter

Eleanor has been a member of the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra cello section since 1997.
She earned her degree in cello performance from Auckland University and continued her studies at the Royal College of Music in London. Her teachers included Coral Bognuda and Christopher Bunting.
Following several years as a freelance musician in London, Eleanor returned to New Zealand in 1996.
An accomplished organist, she serves as both the organist and Director of Music at St. John's in the City, Wellington
Eleanor teaches piano, cello, and organ, and has a passion for playing chamber music. She is an active member of the IOTA and Chiesa Ensembles.
