Environmental Sustainability

The New Zealand Symphony Orchestra has begun its journey to lessen its impact on the environment, taking definitive steps towards a more sustainable future.

In 2021, we made a commitment to reduce our carbon emissions and to offset the balance to achieve carbon neutrality. We are pleased with our achievements and progress so far, and in 2022 we were certified as a Toitū net carbonzero organisation.

Despite our success, we recognise there is more work ahead. As such, we have developed strategic plans to continually manage and further reduce our emissions.

Our proactive measures to protect our planet are an investment in the future. By acting now, we aim to ensure the continuation of delivering exceptional musical experiences across Aotearoa New Zealand for many more generations to come.
