Kyriakos Tapakis performs in Beyond Words.

Kyriakos Tapakis graduated from the musical junior high school and high school of Palini in Athens, Greece. He studied oud with Antonis Apergis, Ioannis Arvanitis, Vasilis Georginis and Katerina Papadopoulou and attended masterclasses with important musicians such as Necati Celik, Yurdal Tokcan and Yildiran Güz (Turkey), Simon Shaheen (Palestine), Ara Dinkjian (Armenia) and Charbel Rouhana (Lebanon).

He worked as a teacher at the musical high school of Thessaloniki, the musical school Tetraktis of Stavroupoli with Ross Daly, En Chordais musical school, the University of Macedonia and the Technological Educational Institute of Epirus. He also participated as a performer and instructor at the musical workshops of Agios Lavrentios.

He has worked as a session musician in recordings and live performances with many composers and musicians such as Sokratis Sinopoulos, Katerina Papadopoulou, John Psathas, Domna Samiou, Chronis Aidonidis, Petroloukas Chalkias, Nedyalko Nedyalkov, baroque orchestra L’Arpeggiata, Petar Ralchev, Peyo Peev, Theodosii Spassov, Psarantonis, Savvina Giannatou, Ross Daly, Alkinoos Ioannidis, Sokratis Malamas, Thanasis Papakonstantinou, Eleni Vitali, Nikos Kypourgos, Nikos Portokaloglou, Melina Kana, David Lynch and Elli Paspala.

Lately, he has focused on creating and performing with musical bands such as Notio Toxo, Balarom Trio, Loxandra, Kostas Theodorou Quintet, Ek Vatheon, Aoutar Duo, Tania Giannouli Trio and Michalis Kondaxakis Quartet.
