Flute, Emerging Artists Soloist

Supported by the Deane Endowment Trust

Louis Lu performs in Emerging Artists.

Louis, a sixteen-year-old flautist from New Zealand began his musical journey at the age of seven. At the age of eleven, he achieved a momentous victory in the Australian Flute Festival Young Artist Competition, in the under 18 category.

Louis's artistry and technical prowess have been recognized on an international scale, as demonstrated by his success in the San Francisco International Online Flute Competition and being awarded the title of Outstanding Junior Performer at the Galway Flute Festival. His performance in the gala concert of the Guangzhou International Flute Competition further highlights his extraordinary musicality. Recently, he has qualified to compete in the International Larrieu Flute competition in June, the most prestigious flute competition of 2024.

Of course, his success must be credited to the guidance of the esteemed flautist and conservatory professor, Philipp Jundt, and the legendary Sir James Galway.
