Rachmaninov Piano Concerto No. 3
Umberto Clerici, Chief Conductor of the Queensland Symphony Orchestra and lauded as “a powerhouse on the podium” (Artshub), will be our tour guide to Rome in this exciting concert.
Berlioz’s Roman Carnival Overture gives us a taste of Italian festivities, while Respighi’s resplendent Fountains of Rome takes us on a tour of four of the fifty monumental fountains in Rome.
It is our pleasure to present Russian pianist Daniil Trifonov to Kiwi audiences. Described by The Times as “without question the most astounding pianist of our age”, his rendition of Rachmaninov’s extraordinary Third Piano Concerto is guaranteed to be unforgettable.
Daniil Trifonov's performances with the NZSO are generously supported by Dame Bronwen Holdsworth DNZM.
