Meet... Reuben Chin
Manager: Education & Community Engagement
Originally from Christchurch, Reuben holds a Master of Musical Arts in saxophone from the Te Kōkī New Zealand School of Music, a Master of Music in flute from the University of Canterbury, and an FTCL diploma in saxophone.
Prior to joining the NZSO as Education and Community Engagement Manager, Reuben was a freelance musician, performing with ensembles across Aotearoa, including the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra, Auckland Philharmonia, Christchurch Symphony Orchestra, Orchestra Wellington, Stroma ensemble, and the Royal New Zealand Air Force Band.
Additionally, Reuben serves as a saxophone artist teacher at the Te Kōkī New Zealand School of Music, having previously taught music theory at the same institution and saxophone at the University of Canterbury.
Inspired by the NZSO during his student years, Reuben is committed to sharing inspirational musical experiences and fostering connections through music with people across Aotearoa.
