With its rich and vibrant history, the Christchurch Town Hall is one of the Garden City’s most recognisable pieces of architecture and one of New Zealand’s premier performance venues.
The NZSO performs concerts in either the Douglas Lilburn Auditorium or the James Hay Theatre within the Christchurch Town Hall.

About
Nestled on the banks of the Avon River, Christchurch Town Hall is a heritage-listed venue that has inspired audiences and performers for many years.
Beautifully restored and refurbished, its acoustics and integrated technology enhance its architectural features and riverside views.
The venue includes the Douglas Lilburn Auditorium, the James Hay Theatre and three large event spaces: the Limes Room, Avon Room and Victoria Room.
Accessibility
There is wheelchair-allocated seating in the Douglas Lilburn Auditorium and James Hay Theatre. Wheelchairs are available for guests — please contact the box office or ticketing agency to request one
There is lift access to the Gallery of the Auditorium, and the Mezzanine of the James Hay Theatre. The Circle level in the James Hay Theatre is stair access only
One accessible parking space is available - on Kilmore Street in front of the Christchurch Town Hall
The Douglas Lilburn Auditorium and James Hay Theatre have hearing loop facilities
Support animals are welcome in the Christchurch Town Hall.
