About
Located in the heart of New Plymouth’s performing arts and conference scene, The Showplace is close to hotels, bars and eateries, and the iconic Coastal Walkway.
The TSB Theatre and the Theatre Royal are the two main auditoriums. The TSB Theatre (previously known as the Opera House) exudes theatrical ambience and has a maximum capacity of 955, while the Theatre Royal is a multi-purpose performance auditorium.
It is a technologically-driven venue while maintaining its original character and history.
Accessibility
The Theatre Royal and the stalls level of the TSB Theatre are fully accessible for guests in wheelchairs. There are 4 wheelchair and companion seats in both spaces, and one wheelchair is available to borrow
A lift provides access to all levels for those with limited mobility. There are wheelchair-accessible ramps and bathrooms in both venues. Due to steep and narrow seating and stairways, we do not recommend the Gallery for patrons with limited mobility
Hearing and guide dogs are welcome. Please let our team know when booking so we can offer appropriate seating
