Leave a Legacy

Give the lasting gift of music

Music is healing, inspiring, uniting, and a crucial part of our social and cultural fabric.

Leaving a gift in your Will to the NZSO Foundation is a very special last act of philanthropy which will help to ensure that future generations continue to experience the transformational power of a live performance or educational activity, presented by the NZSO.

Your bequest gift will help to ensure that we can deliver even more live performances to audiences across Aotearoa New Zealand. It will also help to ensure that the NZSO’s Education and Community Engagement Team can expand on its work which currently benefits more than 35,000 young New Zealanders in schools and communities across 21 geographic centres.

Invested in the NZSO Foundation’s Endowment Fund, a bequest lasts beyond a lifetime supporting the orchestra for future generations.

He toi whakairo, he mana tangata. Where there is artistic excellence, there is human dignity.

This is what the NZSO gives us. Let’s make sure future generations can experience this gift, too.

How do I include a bequest in my will

Leaving a legacy gift to the NZSO Foundation in your Will is easy. To make sure the wording in your Will accurately describes your intentions, we suggest that your solicitor includes the following:

I give

  • ___% of my estate OR

  • the rest and residue of my estate OR

  • the sum of $__ (fixed amount)

to The New Zealand Symphony Orchestra Foundation (CC24274) for general purposes, for which the receipt of an authorized officer of the Foundation shall be a full and sufficient discharge to my trustees.

Should you wish your bequest to support a specific area of the NZSO work, please contact us. By learning what is important to you, we can suggest ways your gift can help the NZSO fulfill its mission.

Gifts in Music

Consider making a dedication to a loved one by sponsoring a Musician’s Chair in the orchestra as an enduring way to keep their passion for artists and music alive at NZSO concerts.
