NZSO In Schools Appeal

In 2024, the NZSO’s Education & Community Engagement Team brought the joy of orchestral music to 35,500 people from Kerikeri to Invercargill. To reach even more New Zealanders in 2025, the NZSO has launched an appeal for the month of March and we invite you to get involved.

Help us introduce orchestral music to children by sending our Animateur Chris Lam Sam and NZSO musicians into classrooms to deliver in person music workshops throughout Aotearoa New Zealand. This work is proven to inspire young minds, build creative outlets for self-expression, develop cognitive skills, and ensure everybody feels invited to experience the wonder of symphonic music.

• A gift of any amount enables the NZSO to keep ticket prices to schools’ concerts to $5 and supports the creation of our brand-new captivating symphonic concert.

• Your gift of $250 covers the cost of a school visit by NZSO Animateur for up to 60 children for an interactive deep-dive symphonic workshop prior to attending the NZSO’s live schools’ concert in their region to gain maximum impact and enjoyment.

• Your gift of $1000 makes a significant contribution to NZSO’s travel costs for NZSO musicians to deliver workshops in regions across the country with Chris Lam Sam.
